Why Locals Love TAMP

Situated in the heart of Bristol, Rhode Island, TAMP is a captivating coffee shop, café, and chocolate boutique that masterfully blends the art of espresso with gourmet chocolate delights. This local gem at 359 Wood St invites coffee aficionados and casual visitors alike to indulge in meticulously crafted espresso classics such as the Ristretto—a short, intense pull with bold depth—and the silky Macchiato crowned with velvety steamed milk foam. For those seeking a sweeter, more indulgent experience, the Café Cubano, topped with whipped sugar, delivers a rich, invigorating punch, while the Vienna, adorned with luscious whipped cream, promises a luxurious treat.

The Acccomplices menu offers refreshing twists like the smooth, cocoa-tinged Cold Brew and the traditional Iced Cuban, which one delighted customer praised for its perfectly balanced sweet cold foam that complements the robust coffee base. Seasonal offerings, including the aromatic Chai Latte bursting with warm spices and the indulgent Frappé blended with sweet cream, provide an ever-evolving exploration of flavor that reflects TAMP’s dedication to quality and creativity.

Beyond beverages, TAMP appeals to sweet tooths with an array of chocolate truffles and a daily selection of bakery bites that pair beautifully with any drink choice, making it a perfect spot to satisfy both caffeine and dessert cravings. The café’s atmosphere mirrors its menu—calm, clean, and thoughtfully curated—rendering it an ideal refuge for study sessions or relaxed conversations. Visitors consistently praise the inviting décor and attentive service that strikes a harmonious balance between professionalism and warmth.

One patron, Cassie Salazar, highlights the baristas’ expertise evident in every cup and the tranquil environment conducive even to productive studying on busy holidays. Rhiannon Palmieri appreciates the welcoming ambiance and the innovative rewards program that gives loyal coffee lovers a well-earned free drink after nine purchases. For regulars like Lee Ann Freitas, TAMP extends its care beyond the human guests with thoughtful touches like pup cups, creating a community feel that’s both inclusive and heartfelt.

I got the Iced Cuban and the sweet cold foam on top is so delicious!! It perfectly counterbalances the coffee on the bottom. You can tell that the barista knows what he’s doing!! The environment is quiet, clean and perfect for studying (even on Thanksgiving!) Highly recommend!!

I stopped in this morning for a coffee and was immediately impressed with the atmosphere and decor. It was super tidy and welcoming! I ordered the Cinnamon Irish Cream Latte and it was awesome. They also do rewards program with the stamp card - you get stamps for the first 9 coffees you purchase and get the 10th free. Will be back with friends and family!

Absolutely LOVE the environment, food, coffee, and overall aesthetic of Tamp. It's become one of my favorite study spots, and their holiday drink menu is phenomenal. I can personally vouch for the Gingerbread latte, which delivers the perfect amount of spice, warmth, and holiday cheer. Swing by and try it out yourself, and support this wonderful small business!

review has been updated... long story short they improved everything! Initial Review: It will take a bit of time for Tamp to find its niche in the area, it doesn’t have to be the best in the area to improve and to justify it’s higher prices. it just needs to be clearer on what sets it apart, it’s close to the town common, chocolates, etc…pricing is not labeled on the seasonal items and 2 ciders were $20, they were good but a little heavy on the cranberry juice. First latte i got from them was from the mason and twine trailer, oatmilk tasted like it was bottom of the carton, probably should have brought it up to them after but I was at the farmer’s market to sip and browse. Looking forward to improving this rating soon. Chocolate + Coffee seems to be what sets them apart from other Bristol cafes, they don’t serve cocoa though which I think would be a worthwhile addition to the menu. Update: no contact info was provided on the reply. So here is my reply, I checked my bank statement the total was $22.14 on November 2nd, a 20% tip was included. All I purchased was two ciders. Following the math in your reply and adding a 20% tip (after tax) would have been at a total of $18.14 so I’m not sure what happened but I hope we can figure that out for next time. Glad to know hot cocoa is an offering but I wouldn’t have known because it is not on the menu, you can see in the photos it is not listed there, I suggested to add it to the menu but if this is a negative feedback I am not sure what to tell you and I’m not sure if there is room to improve. Another suggestion, the local coffee culture is happy to have another coffee shop in the area, interesting to have an italian offering of roasted beans here, that seems to be unique to Tamp and I didn’t know that, I am not sure I believe these coffees are bigger/smaller and to be frank I don’t care, each cafe here has unique offerings and I go to each one for different reasons, if I wanted best value all the time, I’d go exclusively to sip n dip (who quite frankly makes decent lattes). The short of my question is “what makes Tamp different?” which seems to be getting confused with “what makes Tamp better/worse?” Update: 1-18-25 I just saw this updated reply from Tamp, thank you for identifying the transaction and refunding the difference. The notes on the updated menu I think will help too :) we’ll be by soon and I’ll be glad to update the review

I love coming here, not just for the great chai, but for the heart behind it. The owner always makes my dog feel welcome with a pup cup, and the staff are just as kind and attentive. Everyone knows their craft, service is fabulous and the chai and chocolate are both incredible. This place truly cares about its customers (both two- and four-legged). If you haven't checked it out, do so ASAP! This is my doggo trying to break in on Christmas Day!

This coffee is exactly what I needed. I am such a coffee snob so to say this coffee is perfection should definitely tell you how great the quality is. Not to mention the owner, Sean, is so wonderful and friendly. I have been recommending this place since the day I went in so if you are near by (or aren't...) definitely stop in!
